For Individual Members: Yes! I want to register as a Rate It Green Community member(free of charge). I want to be able to fully participate and post on all areas of Rate It Green. I am ready to complete the Rate It Green registration survey. For more information, see below.

For Corporate Members: Yes! I am registering a company today (free of charge). I am an authorized company representative, and I am registering the company I work for or own. As a registered company administrator, I will be able to add products and services to the Rate It Green database. I understand that I can also become an individual member and should do so if I wish to participate in forums or ratings as an individual. My company will not have a display name that protects the company’s identity on Rate It Green.

Becoming a registered member is free, and completing the individual registration process will help us learn more about the green building community so that we may serve you better.  Registering products and services as a corporate member is also free of charge.

Please note that you may become both an individual and corporate member as long as you use unique email addresses for each registration.  Your individual membership will allow you to view and post on all public areas of the site.  You will also be able to create a personal profile and share only the information you choose with other registered members.  Corporate members may view all areas of the site and post on the forum (identified by company name), but they are not able to rate/review products and services.

Rate It Green is a community for people interested in finding and sharing information about the best in green building and design products and services. Becoming a Rate It Green Community Member will allow you to participate fully in all forums, ratings, and members-only parts of this community. You must be a fully registered community member in order to post on the public areas of the Rate It Green site.

Why should I register as a Rate It Green Community Member?

Once an individual completes the member registration, he or she is a full community member and can take full advantage of the benefits offered within the Rate It Green community. Individual Community Members can post questions and/or share information on any public forum or board, and they can participate in the ratings area of the site as well. To protect their privacy, all Individual Community Members create a unique public name and user identity. Individual members also contribute to our understanding of the green market even just through filling out the registration survey. This survey helps us serve members better and provides critical green building market research.

Why do I have to fill out a survey, and what if I do not want to complete a survey?

We strongly encourage all Rate It Green users to register with Rate It Green and to renew key pieces of information with us on a regular basis. As an online community, we are committed to growing the green building market through shared resources and information. Information about the community of individuals and companies that form the market for green building products is an important resource we can leverage to help grow the marketplace. The more users share about their characteristics and participation in that market, the more robust our community can be and the more we can conduct quality research.

The Rate It Green membership survey is designed to capture important statistical information we believe will assist us in serving our members as well as provide important research for understanding and expanding the green building market. Some of this information we plan to share with members and others within the green community. And we may also share or sell aggregate industry data (not personal or confidential information) or produce reports or research based on this data.

Some things to keep in mind as you decide whether or not to register (sorry about the one repeated item below):
1. Full membership is free of charge.
2. The membership survey is designed to capture important statistical information we believe will assist us in serving our members as well as provide important research for understanding and expanding the green building market.
3. The information we collect through registering provides a resource for Rate It Green. It is our commitment to keep this site free of charge to members.
4. We estimate that the registration survey will take most people approximately ten minutes, depending on your level of green experience.  If you have significant green building experience, the survey may take longer.  You may also share more with Rate It Green and/or your fellow registered members through the site's optional personal profiles.  You control your Rate It Green identity, including how much information you do and do not wish to share.
5. If you decide not to register, you can still browse all public postings on Rate It Green, but you may not post forum questions or participate in Green Ratings.  You will also not have access to selected areas of the site which are for registered members only.

Will Rate It Green give out my personal information or email address?

Rate It Green does not sell, rent, or otherwise give out your personal or confidential company information. Please see the privacy note below or view our full Privacy Policy. Rate It Green may sell or otherwise share aggregate market data from time to time. This type of data does not contain information that identifies individuals or organizations.
