Workshop 1: How (Older) Buildings Work
September 5th | 5:00pm - 7:00pm
High performance new building design, spec, and construction is a piece of cake compared to moving existing buildings into high performance. Before you can CHANGE the way an existing building works, you need to ESTABLISH how it currently works and then be intentional about protecting the building performance that has worked while not loading the retrofit with unintended consequences.
A big part of this session will be: what are the tools we can use to assess building performance of existing buildings?

Workshop 2: How (Older) Buildings Don’t Work 
October 3rd | 5:00pm - 7:00pm
One way to learn how to move existing buildings to high performance is to analyze retrofit projects that have not gone according to plan.
This session will be a series of building science puzzles from building investigations, peeling back the lessons learned. Come ready to put the puzzle pieces together for: problem solved.

Workshop 3: What Role Do Existing Buildings Play in Net Zero Carbon?
November 14th | 5:00pm - 7:00pm
Every time we think we have the definition of “net zero buildings” nailed down, the boundary conditions, the definition, or the elements of net zero change; more exactingly, how they expand.
This session will cover the science, the building code, and the business of Net Zero Energy, including embodied carbon. This new frontier is challenging, but filled with opportunities.
