Job Opportunity: Project Manager for Green Building & Energy Efficiency, Delaware
Company: New Ecology, Inc.
Responsibilities:
-Help owners improve performance, occupant health, and durability of multifamily buildings
-Support projects that are enrolled in a new energy efficiency program
-Work as the primary client contact on individual projects and develop/deliver New Ecology's work product
-Work under supervision of the Delaware Program Manager and collaborate extensively with other technical staff
Specific Tasks May Include:
-Leading design meetings to identify and target cost effective greening strategies
-Attending project meetings and leading discussions on relevant sustainability issues
-Developing energy efficiency and renewable energy strategies for new construction and renovation projects
-Reviewing technical documents like building plans, specifications, and submittals to ensure that green design intent and certification requirements are incorporated and that green features are buildable
-Educating team members on and facilitating, documenting, and tracking compliance with green building rating systems, such as Energy Star
-Performing construction management responsibilities, including inspections, to ensure that projects are built as designed; that Energy Star and similar program requirements are met; and that problems are identified and resolved to the owner’s satisfaction
-Conducting post-occupancy evaluations of projects to ensure they perform as intended
-Securing grants and rebates for clients, including writing proposals, working with utility representatives, and filing rebate forms
-Representing clients before government agencies in permitting and compliance discussions, and
writing reports and case studies.
Qualifications:
-Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple projects and people skills to clearly communicate complex ideas and meet client expectations
-Technical knowledge of building systems and operations, including demonstrated experience in building science;
experience in construction management, coordination, and implementation
-A demonstrated desire to work on energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainability issues at the building level
-Knowledge of green building, energy efficiency, and renewable energy strategies and technologies - Knowledge of green building rating systems, such as Energy Star, LEED, Enterprise Green Communities, NGBS, and Passive House
-Knowledge of multifamily buildings and their systems
-Knowledge of HVAC systems and building codes
-Technical competence in reading and interpreting specifications and plans
experience interpreting data, financial calculations, and energy models
-Strong writing skills
-Working knowledge of rebates and incentive programs available to building owners; and
technical credentials, such as a HERS rater, Building Performance Institute certification, or LEED accreditation, and/or other certifications.
