Every organization and everyone can submit to Rate It Green's green building calendar! Simply click register, verify your email address, and create a username and password. You can then decide if you'd like to engage more fully as a community member, but you'll be able to post events.

We welcome praise and advice and even criticism but all posted content and ratings should be constructive in nature. For guidance on what constitutes suitable content on the Rate It Green site, please refer to the User Agreement and Site Rules.

Event Description
Get informed on New York City climate legislation and its impact on buildings. Register now for the Climate Mobilization Act Primer, a one-hour seminar examining the basic principles of the Climate Mobilization Act and offering actionable guidance for building decision makers.
The Climate Mobilization Act, passed in April of 2019, is an ambitious legislative package placing emissions limits on New York City’s large commercial and residential buildings. In addition to these emissions limits, codified in Local Law 97 of 2019, the legislation includes green roof and solar PV mandates (Local Laws 92 & 94), building energy performance grades (Local Law 95), and the establishment of clean energy financing tools (Local Law 96).
The Climate Mobilization Act Primer is designed for property owners, managers, developers, and other key stakeholders interested in gaining a foundational understanding of the Climate Mobilization Act and for those seeking direction as they navigate these new regulations.

George Kontaroudis, Senior Project Manager, Morris Adjmi Architects
George Kontaroudis graduated from the Bartlett School of Architecture at University College London and since then has worked in Greece, the Middle East and the United States. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Lincoln in the UK where he discovered his passion for sustainability and won the second prize at a Commonwealth wide student competition for sustainable development and innovative building technology, awarded by the Eric Lyons Memorial Fund. George’s design is anthropocentric as he seeks to create spaces that are comfortable, healthy, and environmentally conscious while at the same time evoking design sensibility in his buildings and interiors. George serves as a member of the Board of Directors for New York Passivehouse as well as the Greek Institute of Architects in New York, and teaches at the New School in New York. Licensed to practice in New York and Greece, George is a LEED AP BD+C a Certified Passivehouse Designer and a trained Climate Reality Leader.
