Every organization and everyone can submit to Rate It Green's green building calendar! Simply click register, verify your email address, and create a username and password. You can then decide if you'd like to engage more fully as a community member, but you'll be able to post events.

We welcome praise and advice and even criticism but all posted content and ratings should be constructive in nature. Passive House 201: Technical Aspects of Design & Construction, May 18, 3 pm ET
Event Description
This session will take a deeper look into common design & construction strategies for achieving the Passive House standard.
Concepts will include building envelope & insulation, air tightness, thermal bridging, testing & verification, and mechanical systems. A brief review of Passive House basics will be included, though some familiarity is recommended.
Course Objectives:
Learn about designing projects to the Passive House standard and details to focus on, including thermal & air barriers.
Learn about common construction issues and strategies to successfully build PH projects.
Learn about methods to achieve PH air tightness metrics and conduct testing & verification on the envelope.
Learn about mechanical systems, including VRFs, heat pumps, and ERVs, and things to consider when designing for them.
