USGBC Online Summit: Workforce Development in Green Building, September 3-5

  • 3 September 2024 To 5 September 2024
  • Event Host : USGBC
Workforce Development in Green Building, Presented by USGBC
Event Description

How can we recruit, train and connect with a skilled green workforce? The U.S. has seen a 50% increase in green jobs since 2019, and the Inflation Reduction Act is anticipated to create an average of 912,000 jobs per year over the next decade. At the same time, many companies are facing unprecedented challenges trying to find enough workers to fill open jobs.

Join USGBC at the next U.S. Market Insight Summit focused on Workforce Development in Green Building. Attendees will:

  • Learn about the opportunities, challenges and successful government and nonprofit programs that are leading the way in green workforce development.
  • Discuss strategies in the LEED rating systems for growing the green workforce that align with principles of sustainability, including prioritizing social equity, health and quality of life. We will analyze ways that assessments must be completed to help identify and address issues of inequity related to the project, its community, team and supply chain.
  • Explore how we can create access to education, training and skills and foster a network to connect this rising workforce to opportunities. Panelists will share their experience providing K-12 education, hands-on training, workforce development, and pre-apprenticeship programs to prepare individuals for emerging opportunities with a focus on equitable access.
  • Learn about funding opportunities through the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and best practices for developing programs and partnerships.

Move to the head of the charge to shape the future of the green building workforce by attending the summit!
