Virtual Course: E202 Advanced HOT2000 Energy Modeling for New & Existing Homes, January 8, 9 am EST
Event Description
Energy modelling software is used to analyze and optimize the energy characteristics of buildings. HOT2000 is an energy modelling software developed and maintained by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) to analyze low-rise resident homes. HOT2000 addresses the energy modelling performance requirements of SB12, an annex to Part 9 of the Ontario Building Code, the section of OBC devoted to the construction of new single-family homes. HOT2000 models can assist Architects, HVAC designers and constructors, consulting engineers, and energy consultants engaged in the new development project to make cost-effective and high-impact building system choices. This course is designed for individuals who will be offering energy modelling services to those professionals. This two-day class provides advanced training on the use and application of HOT2000 for building code compliances. It will cover a variety of building envelope assemblies, HVAC systems, renewable energy and much more. In addition, the training will teach students how to perform a cost-benefit analysis to help make projects highly energy efficient with the lowest incremental cost.
