Want to improve the quality of your construction delivery, and help yourself and your company become more competitive?
These two ANSI-accredited certifications, one for supervisory personnel and the other for field personnel, are for you!
Everyone knows it takes a qualified team to build a high performance, healthy building. Yet so many green building teams are not equipped with the knowledge and tools to truly deliver buildings that perform as designed. The Green Advantage Certified Associate (GACA®) credential is ANSI accredited green builder certification targeted to construction trades personnel and applicable across trades, regardless of the green building rating system, standard or code being pursued.
GACA certification provides powerful screening tools to building owners, architects, engineers, and contractors to qualify construction workers for green building projects.
The GACP and GACA certification standards meet the following criteria:
-
Applicable across building trades
-
Compatible with multiple green building rating systems, standards, and codes, such as: LEED®; WELL™; Living Building Challenge; Passive House; ASHRAE 189.1; BOMA 360; BREEAM; ENERGY STAR®; Green Globes; HERS (Home Energy Rating System); Net Zero Energy Buildings; IgCC (International Green Construction Code).
-
Results-oriented, promoting achievement of:
-
Environmental goals.
-
Health, safety and productivity goals.
-
Successful delivery of green buildings and accompanying infrastructure technologies, methods, and best practices.
-
Enhanced quality of the production, installation, and operation of construction-related products.
-
Disaster resistance/resilience.
-
Building security and blast resistance.
-
Problem-spotting in the field.
-
Insurance and financial claim reductions.
-
Cost containment goals and reduced callbacks.
-
Reduction of building operational and maintenance costs.
-
Enhanced work communication, coordination, collaboration, and efficiency within and among trades.
This course is organized around the knowledge required for the exam and is designed for test-takers but may also be of interest to those who would like a basic knowledge of green building principles and requirements.
Participants will learn through a variety of interactive exercises, lectures, discussions and quizzes. These activities are designed to challenge participants to develop a working understanding of the latest 2017 Green Advantage Certified Associate and Certified Practitioner Study Guides. Exercises will allow participants to practice applying green building principles and requirements in the way they will be tested on the accreditation exam.
