Achieving Net-Zero Energy Buildings Workshop
Event Description

Presenters will introduce zero energy definitions and provide an overview of trends and strategies for zero energy market adoption and growth. We will outline the technologies, processes, and approaches common in zero energy buildings and recommend steps to success from predesign through operations. Case studies will highlight local buildings and lessons learned. This training will explain the business case and return on investment for ultra-low and zero energy buildings as well as the importance of operations, maintenance, and energy monitoring to ensure ongoing building performance. Attendees will learn of the regulatory pathway for zero energy buildings, including the proposed Appendix Z in the DC Energy Code, and of the tools and resources available to assist in their development of ultra-low and zero energy projects.

Who should attend: Those interested in high performance design and construction including building owners, architects, engineers, construction managers, corporate real estate professionals, school, government and agency staff are encouraged to attend.
