BIG ART; tiny house at The Umbrella in Concord. Sounds fun! 9/15/2015 - 11/15 2015, with additional special event dates

  • 01 Oct 2015
Event Description

BIG Art; Tiny House is a yearlong public art project that highlights forms of art rarely seen in traditional venues. To demonstrate that art isn't just nice but is necessary, we plan to build a tiny house on the front lawn in collaboration with Miranda's Hearth and fill it with handmade objects crafted by local artisans. Simultaneously, we will exhibit a second, fully-completed tiny house. By exhibiting the creative process of building and filling a house, we will draw attention to the creative fields of architecture, woodworking, pottery, quilting, interior design, and weaving.

Our goal is to help people recognize the role art plays in their daily lives, even when they don’t know it’s there.
