How can realtors know what is green and communicate effectively when buying or selling?

As part of a monthly realtor education series in 2021, GreenHome Institute kick-started the conversation with this introduction to what you need to know when buying, selling, and identifying basic green features in a home to help your real estate clients.

Lessons learned

  1. Understand the easy to identify green home features for new and existing homes without being an expert
  2. Review studies about real estate value and green home features
  3. Articulate ways to highlight sustainability in listings
  4. Know where to go to get more information on green certifications, identifying features, and green listing.
