Central BUILDINGSinACTION Tour: Mayor Michael Coleman Government Building, July 25, Columbus, OH
Event Description
The 2nd Quarter BUILDINGSinACTION Tour will provide an opportunity for a behind-the-scenes tour of the Mayor Michael B. Coleman Government Building. After a brief presentation by the building owners and the project team, attendees will get a guided tour stopping at key locations around the facility. During the tour, attendees will learn about how the project team worked together with owners and city officials to create an integrated facility and achieve LEED Silver.
The 195,000 square foot office building for the City of Columbus, which is an important facet of the City’s Municipal Campus vision, brings together four City departments (Development, Building and Zoning, Public Services, and Public Utilities). The departments, previously housed in different buildings around Columbus, are now under one roof to create an efficient “one-stop shop” for residents and businesses to handle a multitude of City-related functions such as regulatory, code and construction issues. The project also includes an outdoor “civic green” as well as the inclusion of local artists to incorporate art into the building and site design. This presentation and tour will discuss the particular challenges faced by both DesignGroup and Schooley Caldwell.

5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Guided Tour
