Florida's Statewide Affordable Housing Conference, Online, August 31 - September 2
Event Description
"The lack of affordable housing and the climate crisis are two of the most pressing challenges facing our state today. Green affordable housing addresses both by providing housing stability, safety, and financial predictability while constructing and operating the buildings to reduce environmental and climate impacts," noted FGBC Executive Director C.J. Davila.
The Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC), the state's leading certifier of green residential, commercial projects and local governments, is sponsoring the Florida Housing Coalition's Virtual Statewide Affordable Housing Conference, Aug. 31- Sept. 2, 2020.
FGBC just passed the 23,000 mark in "Florida Green" certifications of single-family homes, commercial buildings, high-rises, land developments and local governments.
FGBC board member Mike Rogers is moderating a conference forum on Energy Efficiency and Green Building and two On-Demand sessions.
One on Florida's Green Building is Certifiable! with FGBC President Barry Faske, Brianne Heffner, Vice President of Development Southport Financial Services, Inc. and FGBC Certifying Agent Drew Smith and Rebuilding Florida Better for the Long Term with FGBC's Dr. Jennifer Languell on the panel.
In addition to the three presentations, FGBC has a virtual exhibit at the conference with videos, fact sheet, membership information and articles on Going Green in Florida.
