Materials Transparency in the Built Environment, March 13, 6-8 pm, Urban Green Council, NYC
Event Description
There is a growing interest in understanding more about the materials that go into the spaces that we occupy—where did the materials come from? Where do they go when they are no longer needed? How do these materials affect our natural resources? How do these materials affect human health?
By looking at a product's entire lifecycle, we can find new opportunities to reduce environmental impacts, conserve resources and reduce costs.
This event will take a deeper look into some of the green building rating systems that are leading the charge on materials transparency, including LEED v4, WELL and Living Building Challenge. In addition to sharing the benefits and complications with rating system requirements, the speakers will also discuss relevant industry trends.
Director, Delos
Annie Bevan, ISSP-SA, LEED GA
