Power & Renewables Summit 2018, November 13-14, Austin, TX
Event Description
Power & Renewables Summit 2018 will gather industry views on how renewable integration, decarbonization, sector electrification and the growing need for increased capacity and flexibility are impacting electricity systems. Join a two-day conversation around financing strategies, business model shifts, demand and regulatory updates as leaders across the energy value chain decipher how these profound transformations will reshape power markets over the next 10-to-20 years.
DEFINING HOW DECARBONIZATION WILL RESHAPE THE POWER MARKETS OF TOMORROW
The proliferation of renewables is catalyzing a tectonic shift in power markets, resulting in all-time low wholesale electricity prices while raising questions over grid integration and capacity issues, showing the growing importance of flexibility and immense market opportunities for storage and decentralization.
These disruption drivers add up to an even bigger wave of transformations that will reshape power markets over the next two decades: from Electric Vehicle mass adoption to the unprecedented decarbonization commitment from hundreds of corporate giants and big municipalities.
In the meantime, the downward trend in wholesale electricity prices is challenging renewable project financing, prompting hedging and other financing tools that can mitigate risks associated with price volatility and regulatory uncertainty. However, the key question remains: How are markets responding to these offtake agreements?
