Every organization and everyone can submit to Rate It Green's green building calendar! Simply click register, verify your email address, and create a username and password. You can then decide if you'd like to engage more fully as a community member, but you'll be able to post events.

We welcome praise and advice and even criticism but all posted content and ratings should be constructive in nature. Planning Your Home Electrification Project – Free 2 Part Webinar Series, July 15 & 22, 4:30-6 pm PT
Event Description
How can you make your home healthier, safer, more efficient, more comfortable and more resilient? This two-part class will equip homeowners to manage their own electrification project with a full understanding of why we need to electrify buildings, what systems are required, and how to avoid common pitfalls in the process.
The class is offered in an on-line format on two evenings, one week apart from 4:30-6:00 pm. The class will be followed up with a call-in session one month following the classes, so that participants can apply what they’ve learned and bring issues to the group and instructors for discussion.
At the conclusion of this class participants will have learned:
- Why you should electrify your home
- What you will need to plan the project
Part 2:
- How to electrify space conditioning, water heating, cooking and laundry for maximum impact
- PV sizing for all-electric homes and EV charging
- Incentives available
- Resources to help you on your project
Nick is an energy consultant and educator focused on building electrification, high-performance building, and energy modeling. He remodeled his own home to be Zero Net Energy in 2015 and recently added an All-electric Zero Net Carbon ADU above the garage in 2022. These two experiences serve as living laboratories for applying high-performance building principles and measuring their performance. He is a Certified Energy Analyst (CEA), CABEC Board Member, and teaches multiple classes for Energy Code Ace, SCE, PG&E, and others. He is assisting with development of the 2025 Title 24 energy code and is part of a California Energy Commission funded clean tech startup working to bring a Thermal Energy Storage System product to market to reduce peak loads of commercial HVAC units.
Robert Fortunato
Robert is President of ForStrategy Consulting and Owner/Builder of the multiple award-winning Green Idea House, one of the first affordable, net zero energy, zero carbon case study houses made with standard construction materials and off the shelf technologies.
Robert is currently assisting developers in significantly reducing capital and operating expenses while scaling solutions that are better for our health, economy and the environment. He recently helped build a team that won the California Energy Commission’s $1 million EPIC grant to design and build one of the most efficient mixed use, affordable, multifamily buildings in the country.
