USGBC Colorado: Wintergreen 2020, February 19, 5-8pm, Colorado Springs, CO
Event Description
Keynote Presentation:
Woodbriar Park Renovation: The Successful Integration of Stormwater Management, Community Recreation, Environmental Art, and Ecological Enhancement.
Repeated stormwater flooding of the residential neighborhood prompted the City of Greeley to seek options for better stormwater management. The Woodbriar Park Renovation improved an existing 7-acre neighborhood park to include flood control storage while enhancing a highly-valued community open space. Unique project elements included collaborative community engagement; a multi-functional detention facility and separate natural creek channel; integration of environmental art with the creek; and site-sensitive nature play recreation.
Keynote Speaker:
Ian Anderson, Matrix Design Group
Ian is a landscape architect and planner with over 19 years of professional planning and design experience in master planned communities, urban infill, recreation, infrastructure, and resort projects. Ian has managed and participated in multi-disciplinary design teams and has developed a variety of public- and private sector project types from conceptual planning through construction documentation and site observation.
