Event Description

In its second generation, the USGBC is guided by our four pillars: sustainability, resiliency, health, and equity.  Now more than ever it is important to examine our programming through each lens of our guiding pillars. The road map forward must ensure a more sustainable, resilient, and healthier world for all.

As part of this continuing engagement, the Mid-Atlantic and New England (MANE) region is hosting a series of regional thought leadership panels in 2021 to draw attention to issues surrounding each of these pillars. These events will feature leaders from within our communities to discuss the topic at hand, analyze the challenges and offer strategies and pathways to address them.

Join the Mid-Atlantic and New England (MANE) region of USGBC for a virtual, interactive session on progressive, Mid-Atlantic and New England region specific energy strategies.
This webinar will briefly touch on the role of the pandemic and recognize the importance of zero energy in new construction—before taking a deep dive into to existing buildings. This webinar will explore how our climate solution hinges upon success in this area. There will be a facilitated discussion to challenge session participants on ways that we, as industry professionals, can change how we personally approach our jobs with Zero Carbon 2050 target in mind. How can we change our companies? How can our companies change our clients? How can our clients change their decision-making processes that present the barriers to Zero Carbon?

Learning Objectives

Attendees will be able to:

  • Understand how States are incentivizing adoption of lower energy goals a cost-effective and deliberate way.
  • Pathway to making difference at scale – using strategies on how to ‘get to zero’ on-site OR if on-site zero is not possible, mechanisms to engage off-site.
  • Identify how individuals can make a difference.
