Every organization and everyone can submit to Rate It Green's green building calendar! Simply click register, verify your email address, and create a username and password. You can then decide if you'd like to engage more fully as a community member, but you'll be able to post events.
Please make sure to be respectful of the organizations and companies, and other Rate It Green members that make up our community. We welcome praise and advice and even criticism but all posted content and ratings should be constructive in nature. For guidance on what constitutes suitable content on the Rate It Green site, please refer to the User Agreement and Site Rules.
The opinions, comments, ratings and all content posted by member on the Rate It Green website are the comments and opinions of the individual members who posts them only and do not necessarily reflect the views or policies or policies of Rate It Green. Event Description
The Visible Green Home® Tour is very excited to present a new event seriesPHIUS+2015 Passive House. This new home construction project in Ann Arbor is the first in the State to meet the Passive House Institute of the United States PHIUS+2015 certification requirements. A Passive House is a home that has been conceived, designed, sited and constructed to use 80%-90% less energy than a conventionally built home. This home will be so energy efficient that by employing an advanced building envelope, internal sources of energy gain and harnessing free energy from the sun, it will eliminate the need for a conventional furnace… altogether. Imagine the buildings of the future- right now!
Final Tour Event August 24, 2019: Mission Accomplished- Passive House Certification!
At this Visible Green Home® tour of the 'P2' project attendees will experience the completely finished home. This final tour celebrates the accomplishment of the project achieving full PHIUS+2015 Passive House certification, the first in the State. This home, by design, will use 80 -90% less energy than a conventional home. We will be presenting the story of the entire project from conception to completion including design concepts, energy conservation strategies, high-efficiency energy utilization systems, and renewable energy program. Soup-to-nuts. Everything!
The special weekend event is slated for one day only, Saturday, August 24th, from 9 AM to 4:30 PM, with tours commencing every hour and a half with space limited to 25 people. The formal presentation will be one hour long with thirty minutes set aside to answer any specific questions you may have and to discuss any projects you may be considering. Note that although this will be a completely free event pre-registration is required for each individual attendee.
