Free GreenHome Institute Webinar: Envelope Sealing with an Automated, Blower Door Directed Technology, September 25, 12-1 pm ET
Event Description
Building or renovating homes with less air leakage in the building envelope is the goal of a significant percentage of residential construction today, leading to homes that are more energy-efficient, comfortable, safe, and durable. Sealing air leaks in the building envelope has historically been done manually but can suffer from inconsistent leak sealing, leading to failed blower door tests. An automated building envelope air sealing system that is blower door directed and verifies results immediately is available and being adopted by an increasing number of builders, energy raters, and architects. It can help homebuilding teams to meet the requirements of energy codes, certifications, and achieve tax credits for both homebuilders and homeowners. Learn how this technology works, benefits it will provide you, and lessons learned from installations across North America.
Lessons Learned:
Shane Shubert is the owner of Music City Air Barrier, an AeroBarrier installer based in Nashville, TN, leading everything from strategy to air sealing building envelopes at construction sites. Shane has become an air sealing expert on job sites, having sealed hundreds of homes – both single family and multifamily, and both during construction and fully finished. He enjoys meeting and exceeding the air sealing requirements of his homebuilder customers, making homes more energy efficient, comfortable, healthier, and durable. Earlier in his career, Shane spent several years in various sales roles for a Fortune 500 company.
Bill Shadid has over 25 years of experience in the construction industry with a focus on sustainability, both as a building product marketer and as an architect. He has extensive experience with many sustainable building products, including building envelopes and HVAC. Bill works in strategic marketing across both the AeroBarrier envelope sealing and Aeroseal duct sealing technologies at Aeroseal, helping builders and architects to understand how best to use them to deliver more energy efficient, comfortable, healthier, and lower carbon homes and buildings.
