Free Online Workshop by SCE: Industrial Lighting, July 9, 9 am - 2:30 pm PT
Event Description
Industrial lighting is rapidly changing as new technologies, particularly LEDs provide opportunities for more energy efficient lighting. This newly updated class, reformatted for on-line presentation, will cover best practices including assessment of general and specialized industrial space conditions, lighting quality and IES recommendations for industrial applications. Safety and environmental codes and standards, and energy code considerations (California Title 24) will be explored. The course will introduce solutions for lighting industrial tasks and applications with an emphasis on LED technologies. The workshop wraps up with a design walkthrough of an industrial facility to provide participants a better understanding of how to apply the materials covered in the workshop.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
• Recognize requirements of a variety of Industrial lighting applications and practices that produce environment friendly, energy efficient code compliance designs
• Become familiar with light fixture characteristics and options associated with industrial lighting
• Understand codes and standards for industrial lighting environments and industrial lighting trends and issues which make for best practices.
• Participate in a design walkthrough of a small industrial space that will allow participant to better understand how to apply the recommendations and requirements for industrial lighting to an industrial lighting application.
