Free Webinar: Basics of Photovoltaic (PV) and Energy Storage Systems (ESS) for Grid Tied Applications, June 25, 9am-12:30pm PT
Event Description
This course teaches the basic vocabulary and technical details of grid-connected photovoltaic and energy storage systems. This instructor will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of various technologies, including module efficiencies, and how to choose the right system for projects from a project manager’s and/or owner’s perspective. Finally, this class will provide a case study on how to size and design a system solution.
The class will focus on residential-sized systems. It will cover PV systems for 75% of the class, and ESS for 25%. Please note this class is designed as an introductory class for anyone interested in understanding the basic concepts of PV project evaluation. It is not a hands-on installation class or a PV design/engineering class. It is an ideal foundation for the more advanced PV & ESS classes.
The objective of this course is that at the conclusion, participants will be able to:
Introduction and safety message
Overview of electricity and grid fundamentals
Photovoltaic & energy storage system technologies- advantages, disadvantages and efficiencies
System design and sizing
