Every organization and everyone can submit to Rate It Green's green building calendar! Simply click register, verify your email address, and create a username and password. You can then decide if you'd like to engage more fully as a community member, but you'll be able to post events.
Please make sure to be respectful of the organizations and companies, and other Rate It Green members that make up our community. We welcome praise and advice and even criticism but all posted content and ratings should be constructive in nature. For guidance on what constitutes suitable content on the Rate It Green site, please refer to the User Agreement and Site Rules.
The opinions, comments, ratings and all content posted by member on the Rate It Green website are the comments and opinions of the individual members who posts them only and do not necessarily reflect the views or policies or policies of Rate It Green. Rate It Green Team Members will monitor posted content for unsuitable content, but we also ask for the participation of community members in helping to keep the site a comfortable and open public forum of ideas. Western Pennsylvania Passive House (PHWPA)
January 11, 2017, 4-6 pm
Join GBA and Passive House: Western Pennsylvania (PHWPA) for a tour of a Passive House under construction!
Join us on the tour, and you’ll get to sport one of GBA’s snazzy hard hats! Afterwards, be sure to stop into the New England-esque town of Beaver to visit some of their cool shops and eateries!
What is a Passive building? In short, it involves an extreme energy efficiency (targeting 60-70% energy use reduction) and performance verification that is proven through an air tightness test with rigorous passing standards. Gary Gardner of Covestro is inviting GBA and others out to Beaver, Pennsylvania for an in-depth tour of the site of his new residence, which happens to be built according to the Passive House Standard! This is a unique opportunity to see how this stringent energy building standard is being implemented in a residential setting.
