Every organization and everyone can submit to Rate It Green's green building calendar! Simply click register, verify your email address, and create a username and password. You can then decide if you'd like to engage more fully as a community member, but you'll be able to post events.
Please make sure to be respectful of the organizations and companies, and other Rate It Green members that make up our community. We welcome praise and advice and even criticism but all posted content and ratings should be constructive in nature. For guidance on what constitutes suitable content on the Rate It Green site, please refer to the User Agreement and Site Rules.
The opinions, comments, ratings and all content posted by member on the Rate It Green website are the comments and opinions of the individual members who posts them only and do not necessarily reflect the views or policies or policies of Rate It Green. Rate It Green Team Members will monitor posted content for unsuitable content, but we also ask for the participation of community members in helping to keep the site a comfortable and open public forum of ideas. Passive House Under Construction
Wakefield, RI
Friday, December 2, 1-5 pm
Construction on this new residence started in spring 2016; the Pro Tour will offer a chance for participants to see the way the project has come together, while the building process is still underway. This home serves as an example of residential construction that strategically employs standard building materials and techniques to meet the passive house standard.
Completed home description:
• 3,000 square feet
• Double-stud wall
• Zipsystem wall air barrier
• Insulation includes closed-cell foam, dense-pack fiberglass, loose-fill cellulose
• HERS Index score of 30
• 21 photo-voltaic panels
• Sonnen Eco 10 energy storage system
• 4.75 kbtu/sq ft energy use (Passive House Standard)
• 3 ductless minisplits
• Zehnder ERV with preconditioning ground loop
• Heat pump water heater
CEUs: 2.5 AIA LU/HSW, 2.0 BPI, and certificates of participation are available
