Smart Technology: Driving Efficiency in Chicago’s Existing Buildings (Hybrid Event)
Event Description

Join Illinois Green Alliance and BOMA/Chicago to explore how smart building technologies are being implemented at the local level to reduce carbon emissions, improve efficiency, and save building owners money.

During this hybrid event, graciously hosted by Arup Chicago, their industry experts will share their experiences, including examples of how smart building technologies have already been used to enhance local building performance and what the future of smart tech could offer to building owners and operators looking to decarbonize.

More about the topic:

In today’s market, new building projects are often stalling or getting canceled due to high capital cost, low office occupancy, or other economic headwinds. As a result, more focus is being placed on improving the existing building stock within our cities. This creates a rich environment to grow design skills and strategies related to building retrofits across all market sectors. By supplementing existing systems and buildings with smart tech, building owners and operators will be empowered to improve their day-to-day operations in the short term and better monitor their performance in the long term with relatively low-impact solutions. As the Chicago City Council continues to advance building decarbonization policy, the scaling of these smart building technologies will be key to meeting both local and national climate goals.
