Sustainability Tour at Pittsburgh International Airport, April 30, 9-11:30 am
Event Description
The Allegheny County Airport Authority is leading the way with its innovative projects and ideas on clean energy. On their 8,800-acre campus located west of Downtown Pittsburgh, they are creating a more sustainable future for the airport and the transportation industry.
In 2021, Pittsburgh made history by unveiling the first-of-its-kind airport micro-grid which, along with some assistance from their solar farm, powers the entire Pittsburgh International Airport campus.
Join Green Building Alliance for a sustainability tour at Pittsburgh International Airport to learn about how ACAA is currently meeting sustainability and clean energy goals, as well as future plans and construction!
On this tour, attendees can expect a brief presentation about the airport, Terminal Modernization Program (TMP), and energy & sustainability on the airport campus. Following the presentation, participants embark on a guided bus-tour of the TMP construction site, walking-tour of the micro-grid, and finally drive by the solar farm before departure.
Tyler Laughlin - Director, Corporate & Government Relations
Paul Hoback - Executive VP & Chief Development Officer
Rick Lee - TMP Implementation Manager, PJ Dick | Hunt
Tom Woodrow - SVP Engineering & Intelligent Infrastructure
Participants are encouraged to arrive early in order to have ample time to make their way from short term parking to the initial meeting area / conference room.
