Webinar: Sustainably Made in America – Sustainability in Action Roundtable, March 11, 11 am EST
Event Description
As COVID-19 exposed critical vulnerabilities in supply chains the world over and consumers continue to feel the effects, more people are asking, “Where are my goods coming from and what are the implications of that?”
One thing is clear: if we don’t change course on commerce, we won’t change the course of our warming climate. Unless commercial transportation can cut emissions at scale, aviation and maritime international shipping will account for up to 40% of all carbon emissions by 2050.
It may come as a surprise, but most building materials used in construction across America are made domestically. In fact, single- and multi-family residences in the US utilized nearly $95 billion in building products in 2019, and only 6.4% of those were imported from other countries.
Join Southface Institute for our first Sustainability in Action Roundtable of 2022 and gain insights from building industry professionals on what it takes to be sustainably made in America.
