Environmental Statement: Working with balsa has generated over 60 full time jobs for the community of Cristóbal Colón in Ecuador. Plantations are always developed on previously degraded land, in collaboration with local families. In addition to providing materials for green energy, balsa trees are extremely renewable as they have very short harvest periods.
