Description: GUOS is a national environmental 501(c)3 grant program whose mission is to reduce the amount of material sent to landfill through early student engagement. Member elementary schools receive $2,000 and personalized support over the 3 year program. Each year they improve recycling by 50% and divert over 400,000lbs of material from landfill.
Environmental Statement: Green Up Our Schools is committed to reducing waste and influencing the next generation of environmental stewards by funding and supporting waste reduction efforts in elementary schools across the nation. We are committed to reducing use, educating youth, and influencing district members to consider any environmental implications of new policies.
