Every organization and everyone can submit to Rate It Green's green building calendar! Simply click register, verify your email address, and create a username and password. You can then decide if you'd like to engage more fully as a community member, but you'll be able to post events.
Please make sure to be respectful of the organizations and companies, and other Rate It Green members that make up our community. We welcome praise and advice and even criticism but all posted content and ratings should be constructive in nature. For guidance on what constitutes suitable content on the Rate It Green site, please refer to the User Agreement and Site Rules.
The opinions, comments, ratings and all content posted by member on the Rate It Green website are the comments and opinions of the individual members who posts them only and do not necessarily reflect the views or policies or policies of Rate It Green. Rate It Green Team Members will monitor posted content for unsuitable content, but we also ask for the participation of community members in helping to keep the site a comfortable and open public forum of ideas. Growing Sustainable Communities Conference, Port of Dubuque, Oct. 3-4
Hosted by the City of Dubuque, Iowa and Sustainable City Network, the Growing Sustainable Communities Conference will be held again this year at the Grand River Center located in the Port of Dubuque at 500 Bell Street.
The 10th annual conference will be two days of education, inspiration, and collaboration on topics of interest to anyone who cares about creating great towns and cities that stand the test of time.
This year's conference will include workshop speakers with a wide range of expertise, including representatives from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Arbor Day Foundation, the Iowa Economic Development Authority, the Government Alliance on Race & Equity, the Econservation Institute, Great Plains Institute, Green Iowa AmeriCorps, the Iowa Clean Cities Coalition, the Midwest Renewable Energy Association, the Sustainable Iowa Land Trust, The Nature Conservancy and businesses such as General Electric, HDR, Shive-Hattery, and many others.
Workshop topics at this year's event include tree canopy projects and programs, watershed and stormwater management, brownfield redevelopment, solar energy, small-town sustainability, biogas conversion, equity, placemaking, livability, climate action planning, education/community partnerships, mobility planning and design, sustainability tools and frameworks, alternative fuel vehicles, green building and sustainable development, local foods, LED streetlight conversions, affordable housing initiatives, green infrastructure, sustainability metrics, training and community engagement, among others.
All attendees receive certificates of participation for professional development hours and continuing education credits.
