Free Webinar: Commercial Solar PV, Energy Storage and Microgrid Technologies, July 9, 10 am - 12 pm PT
Event Description
Solar, storage and microgrids are not just for your home, in fact most solar modules (panels) are not on houses. This class will cover the basics and more about larger renewable energy systems. Topics include understanding electrical concepts, such as power and energy, becoming versed in utility rate structures, such as time of use (TOU) rates, net-metering and demand charges. We will also dive into other exciting incentives, such as the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). We will get technical and discuss equipment, free online system sizing software and connecting solar, storage (including bidirectional EVs) and microgrids to the utility grid. This class will also cover safety, ethics, codes, standards and how to work with the building department.
Learning Outcomes:
Taught by Sean White this class is geared for those who have taken the basic residential solar, storage and microgrid class and will provide attendees with a basic technical level of understanding of commercial solar, energy storage and microgrid systems. This class will also provide prerequisite and continuing education credit for NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) certifications.
