Free Webinar: Construction and Demolition Waste, USGBC LA, June 18, 11 am PST
Event Description
Construction and demolition (C&D) debris makes up nearly 30% of all disposal in the United States.
In this era of Zero Waste much attention is given to reducing packaging, recyclability of packaging, food waste, household trash and the like, but few tend to look at the end of life materials for our built environment. With that huge percentage of disposal nationwide, Zero Waste is impossible to achieve without addressing this massive waste stream.
In this webinar we will learn what makes up the C&D waste stream, what is and is not recycled, and what happens when we do not properly manage these materials. We will address the myths and mysteries of C&D diversion and discuss the roles of municipalities, architects, builders, and haulers/recyclers in the diversion chain.
