Free Webinar: EcoRise: Building a Green Texas Program, Educator Workshop, February 5, 9 am CST
Event Description
This workshop of the 2021–22 school year will train in EcoRise's Green Building Lessons for a Sustainable Future and the Sustainable Intelligence K-12 environmental education resources. This hands-on and interactive workshop will look at issues relating to Energy and Air and how our building and design choices impact the quality and conservation of these resources.
A total of three workshops are offered (though teachers do not need to attend all three). Stipends are available to participating teachers who complete the program requirements by attending at least one workshop, using the lessons with their high school students, and giving EcoRise feedback on the materials.
EcoRise seeks to partner with innovative Central Texas public high school teachers through our 2021-22 Building a Green Texas Program. With the generous support of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and our partnership with UT School of Architecture, participating Central Texas teachers will receive training and support to integrate green building and sustainability concepts into their classroom, access to sustainability curriculum and grant resources, and opportunities to participate in LEED Green Associate certification.
The ultimate goal is to support students who have been underrepresented in the green architecture, design, and construction fields, exposure and access to green professionals and opportunities to pursue these careers should they so choose.
