Every organization and everyone can submit to Rate It Green's green building calendar! Simply click register, verify your email address, and create a username and password. You can then decide if you'd like to engage more fully as a community member, but you'll be able to post events.

Free Webinar: Electrifying Agricultural Product Processing, January 13, 10am - 12pm PT
Event Description
This webinar is an introduction to electrifying common gas burning technologies used in agricultural product processing, such as boilers and steamers in dairies, creameries, canneries and breweries. The webinar will also cover other equipment such as dehydrators and smokers and they will discuss the practical features of electric equipment such as costs, benefits and challenges.

- Brief History and Global Perspective on Electric Farming. 1935-59 Rural Electrification Administration, early electric farm processing, evolution of farm-specific heat pump boilers
- Dairies and Creameries: heat pump boilers for wash down and pasteurization
- Beer Breweries: heat pump boilers for grain kettles, wash down and bottling
- Canneries: heat pump boilers for washing cans, pressure boilers for meats and vegetables, and ovens for cooking and sterilization
- Corn Tortilla Processing: dent corn boiler and tortilla ovens
- Meat smoking: Electric/charcoal/wood hybrid smokers, heat pump boilers for wash down
- Nut Processing: Pistachio and walnut dryers
Sean Armstrong was raised on a Wisconsin farm, has been part of seven farming businesses, co-owns a working ranch, and consults nationally on all-electric buildings and equipment. Sean has co-authored eight practical design guides for all-electric design and equipment and helps manufacturers invent new electric products. He has designed half of the all-electric new construction in California between 2010-2020.
