Free Webinar: Future of Your Home's Breaker Box for Electrification, August 14, 12-1 pm ET
Event Description
Between new regulatory requirements for all-electric homes, the desire to have at-home EV charging, and/or more efficient appliances, pressure is placed on builders to accommodate higher loads, resulting in 320/400A services for homes. These increased service sizes pose challenges not only to a per-house basis but also to the neighborhood and utility electrical infrastructure.
Learn how to avoid building larger and unnecessary electrical services (320/400A) in new home construction and production builder lots by using Smart Panels and Energy Management Software.
Lessons Learned
1. Understand the Impact and Reason for Increased Electrical Loads: Learners will be able to explain the challenges posed by higher electrical service sizes (320/400A) on individual homes and utility infrastructure.
2. Evaluate Regulatory Requirements and Solutions: Learners will be able to explain different solutions to regulatory challenges which include building at the larger service size, singular load management, or using a smart panel with energy management software.
3. Implement Smart Panels and Energy Management Software: Learners will understand Smart Panels and their added benefit to projects.
4. Evaluate the National Electric Code and how to Safely Implement Smart Panels: Learners will gain the confidence to give an overview on the related code sections in the NEC related to Smart Panels at a high level.
