This class covers how to prepare and/or adjusts your Commercial HVAC Systems to address pandemic and wildfire hazards. The class includes the latest guidance from professional organizations and governmental entities including ASHRAE, CDC, and the latest Title 24 Codes.

The objective of this course is that at the conclusion, participants will be able to:

  • Compare differences between air contaminants
  • Recognize how HVAC systems filter/dilute contaminants and minimize threats
  • Modify HVAC controls to manage acute air contamination threats
  • Explore how to incorporate air contamination management in long-term capital planning

      Elbert Guico has worked in the energy efficiency industry since 2015. He currently supports our utility consulting services for California Title 24 Building Code Acceptance Testing, Functional Performance Testing for mechanical and lighting systems, and Code Readiness studies specifically for rooftop package units and dedicated outside air units with variable refrigerant flow drives. Elbert’s experience includes field data collection, energy audits, and testing lighting and mechanical systems to-code and for commissioning building sequences of operations. Other primary areas of expertise include power systems and hardware.
