Free Webinar: NYC Decarbonization: Fundamentals, Online, January 18, 8 am-12 pm ET
Event Description
As COVID-19 appears to be under control, decarbonization has swept through the HVAC & buildings industry like wildfire. In the rush to electrify our buildings, what should be the major strategies to implement? How does each building develop its plan to meet LL97’s proposed changes, as well as meeting tenant needs, in commercial buildings?
NYC has led the country in requiring buildings to reduce GHG emissions by electrifying large buildings under Local Law 97. Now, new proposed changes to LL97 are in process. How do NYC building owners and operators navigate this changing landscape of regulations during construction through operation?
ASHRAE NY’s Earth Day 2022 event will begin with a short Keynote address from ASHRAE President Elect Ginger Scoggins: a summary of COP27, followed by a discussion of ASHRAE’s position on decarbonization and the major trends to electrify buildings. This will be followed up by a detailed discussion of available rebates, incentives, and programs to assist NYC building designers, contractors, and operators to pay for the changes required to protect their investments and to operate their facilities sustainably and resiliently.
Bringing it all together, a diverse panel of pros (academics, engineers, contractors and HVAC reps) already leading the efforts discusses how to decarbonize NYC commercial buildings.
