Event Description
This course will describe how the energy landscape in the US is evolving and how residential solar is projected to be growing at a rapid rate over the next decade. With more homes installing Solar, the demand for products that are optimized for roof top installation is increasing resulting in next generation solar roofing products being developed and commercialized. This course is designed for roofing contractors, solar contractors, architects, builders, homeowners who are interested in learning more about solar technology with specific focus on solar shingles and how they compare to traditional solar panels.

1) Understand the importance of integrating solar technology into residential settings to promote healthier living environments by reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
2) Analyze the safety considerations for solar roofing for electrical and roofing intergrations and operations
3) Introduce innovative solar products like solar shingles, which enhance energy efficiency and contribute to the welfare of communities by providing sustainable energy solutions.
4) Articulate the economic benefits of transitioning to solar energy, highlighting how it can lead to long-term savings and increased property value for homeowners.
Dr. Sahas Rathi has been working in the field of Sustainable construction materials for the last decade to help bring new innovations to the market to help make the world a better home. Today as the Market and Product manager at the Solar Roofing business of CertainTeed, he is working on bringing beautiful, simplified and dependable solar solutions to the market to help contractors offer the best-in-class solar roofing solutions to homeowners.
Sahas has several patents and publications to his name and over 10 years of experience in developing and commercializing new products that help make buildings more sustainable.
