Planning for Climate Resilience Summit, September 10-11
Event Description

This free interactive training will focus on connecting K-12 school district decision makers with their peers, experts, and key resources to develop, fund, and implement climate resiliency plans and improvements.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the types of climate-related risks facing your school community using tools including FEMA’s National Risk Index.
  • Communicate the benefits of climate resilience planning for school systems including impacts on cost savings, human health, and community response.
  • Identify infrastructure upgrades and design strategies to address specific climate risks during new school construction and renovations.
  • Outline strategies to integrate climate resilience into existing emergency management, facilities, and community-based planning structures.
  • Develop a value proposition to make the case for investment in planning and infrastructure to address climate risks.
