NESEA Pro Green Building Tour: Net Zero Energy Modular Home & Factory Tour, September 20, Greenwood, Maine
Event Description
Join NESEA for this special Pro Tour event and visit a new, free-standing single-family home and the modular manufacturing facility where it was pre-fabricated.
We’ll begin our event with an opening presentation from our hosts, BrightBuilt Home. We’ll learn about the collaboration between BrightBuilt and the manufacturer, design and energy considerations, and about their approach to sustainable, modular housing.
Attendees will then tour the factory, getting a behind-the-scenes look into the process. The factory is an approximately 80,000-square-foot facility, with the capacity to build 200+ modular units annually. They produce a wide array of products, from code-standard multi-family to high-performance, high-detail single-family homes.
After the factory, we’ll see the finished product of the manufacturing process, when we visit a completed free-standing, 1,300 square-foot single-family home designed to accommodate a family of six while achieving net zero energy. There, our hosting team will share the story of this specific project, including special site considerations, energy modeling, and meeting client goals. The team is proud to offer this example of a family home built to high-performance standards using everyday materials, making this project highly replicable.
We’ll wrap our day with a closing reception, where attendees can connect with members of the project team and one another before kicking off their fall weekends.
