The Humid Climate Conference, May 2 - 3, The Austin Central Library, Austin, Texas
Event Description
The Humid climate Conference is a biennial conference focused on bringing the PHIUS passive house building standard to life in humid climates.
The Humid Climate Conference was born in Austin, TX 2016 as a confluence of empowerment and education for architects, builders, engineers, and trades. Now this conference focused on high-performance buildings in the south has survived the ongoing pandemic and is making its reappearance May 2-3, 2022.
Passive House Austin is thrilled to invite attendees back to Texas to listen, learn and network with industry thought leaders, boots-on-the-ground overachievers, and a mix of manufacturer sponsors. Speakers for the event include Dr. John Straube (RDH Labs), Zack Semke (Passive House Accelerator), Stacy Smedley (of Skanska), Bruce King (author of New Carbon Architecture), and a special media event with Matt Risinger. Dr. Jonathan Bean will once again be our host and MC.
Site tours of passive buildings and an Austin-style after partayyyyy are also part of this incredible event. We’re anticipating attendees from Houston, Austin, Dallas, New Orleans, Florida, Atlanta, Japan,
The Humid Climate Conference will take place at the Austin Central Library this spring as we explore the issues and causes that prevent us from designing and creating better buildings, as well as solutions and next actions to bring a new high performance paradigm to life!
