Every organization and everyone can submit to Rate It Green's green building calendar! Simply click register, verify your email address, and create a username and password. You can then decide if you'd like to engage more fully as a community member, but you'll be able to post events.
Please make sure to be respectful of the organizations and companies, and other Rate It Green members that make up our community. We welcome praise and advice and even criticism but all posted content and ratings should be constructive in nature. For guidance on what constitutes suitable content on the Rate It Green site, please refer to the User Agreement and Site Rules.
The opinions, comments, ratings and all content posted by member on the Rate It Green website are the comments and opinions of the individual members who posts them only and do not necessarily reflect the views or policies or policies of Rate It Green. Rate It Green Team Members will monitor posted content for unsuitable content, but we also ask for the participation of community members in helping to keep the site a comfortable and open public forum of ideas. Tour of Southeast Community Center - June 20 (Also available June 14!) , 10 am and 12 pm, San Francisco, California
Event Description
This tour will complement the Water Conservation Showcase educational session titled “Drought to Deluge and provide an opportunity to see the landscaped bioswales of the new Southeast Community Center and learn about the center’s role as a hub to promote the health, well-being, cultural, educational, and financial empowerment of San Francisco’s Bayview Hunter’s Points residents.
The center is a state of the art, 40,000 square foot, three story, gold LEED building with two acres of open space and over 30 pieces of art by local Bayview artists. The original center started in 1979 to help offset the effects of the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission’s wastewater treatment plant on surrounding communities. The new center opened in October 2023, and its design and programming reflect extensive input from the local neighborhood.
