Every organization and everyone can submit to Rate It Green's green building calendar! Simply click register, verify your email address, and create a username and password. You can then decide if you'd like to engage more fully as a community member, but you'll be able to post events.
Please make sure to be respectful of the organizations and companies, and other Rate It Green members that make up our community. We welcome praise and advice and even criticism but all posted content and ratings should be constructive in nature. For guidance on what constitutes suitable content on the Rate It Green site, please refer to the User Agreement and Site Rules.
The opinions, comments, ratings and all content posted by member on the Rate It Green website are the comments and opinions of the individual members who posts them only and do not necessarily reflect the views or policies or policies of Rate It Green. Rate It Green Team Members will monitor posted content for unsuitable content, but we also ask for the participation of community members in helping to keep the site a comfortable and open public forum of ideas. USGBC Florida Presents: JEA Headquarters LEED Tour, August 18, 8 - 10am EDT, Jacksonville, Florida
Event Description
The JEA Headquarters project represents a great achievement in sustainability and resiliency for Duval County. Located in Jacksonville's Urban Core, the JEA Headquarters is a seven-story, Class A office building with an 8-story parking garage that features 30 electric charging stations. The building contains a mix of enclosed offices and open office areas, visitor lobby, customer center, future coffee shop area, and collaborative spaces, and substantial emergency power capabilities. The existing JEA district cooling water plant distributes chilled water to the building.
The facility has earned LEED v4 Core and Shell Gold, along with being designed to meet WELL building standards in energy efficiency, and achieved the EPA's "Designed to Earn the ENERGY STAR" certification.
The headquarters boasts accomplishments in sustainability, such as 28% reduction in energy use, 50% reduction in water use, and 86% of construction waste was diverted from landfill. Being a critical facility, the JEA Headquarters takes its place in the downtown skyline as being one of the first designed with resiliency in mind- including redundancies and back up systems.
The tour will be guided by project team members, and will highlight the different components of LEED that have been accomplished.
