Center On Sustainable Communities
Center On Sustainable Communities serves as a resource for the residential homebuilding marketplace. COSC educates consumers and professionals, empowering them to take steps toward more sustainable building practices and provides community-networking forums for professionals and experts to engage with peers and homeowners on various aspects of residential green building.
Chicago Center for Green Technology
Chicago Green Tech's building and campus are open for visitors to explore and to learn how green buildings are good for people and good for the environment. CCGT's Green Building Resource Center also has a small library that includes green product samples. The library is open to visitors whenever CCGT is open. CCGT also offers free seminars for the public.
Light House Sustainable Building Centre
Light House Sustainable Building Centre is an enterprising non-profit society dedicated to advancing and catalyzing sustainability in British Columbia`s built environment. They offer a range of free and fee-based programs and services out of their 1,300 square foot office, resource and display centre on Granville Island.
NeXus
Located in Boston, NEXUS includes over 6,000 square feet of product and educational showrooms, a print and online samples and resource library and networking space. The center is staffed by green building experts and LEED accredited professionals. It is open to building owners, architects, engineers, designers, developers and the general public.
Southface
Southface promotes sustainable homes, workplaces and communities through education, research, advocacy and technical assistance. The Southface Energy & Environmental Resource Center showcases more than 100 innovative green ideas and technologies, showing the consumer or builder how to conserve natural resources, reduce waste, maintain healthy indoor air quality, and design accessible homes for people with physical disabilities. They offer home energy and indoor air quality inspections and technical assistance for design, construction, or renovation projects.
The Engineering and Design Institute at Philadelphia University
The Engineering and Design Institute, at Philadelphia University, is an interdisciplinary research center focusing on green materials, sustainable design and community outreach. Architects and green material specialists are available for 45 minute free review of design projects.
The Environmental House Energy & Green Building Resource Center
The EnHouse provides free consultations on construction and home improvement projects, indoor air quality issues, and material selection. Informational tours of the environmental display area for groups large and small are also provided free of charge. The center offers an access to a green building sample and book library. The staff can also assist with locating of the local green building products and services.
