IWBI Announces Three Impressive Initiatives to Support the Green & Healthy Building and Wider Communities in this Time of Crisis
The International Well Building Institute (IWBI) has announced a number of initiatives designed to help and support the green and healthy building and wider communities in the time of crisis surrounding the coronavirus.
First, IWBI will be setting up a Task Force to help bring together experts and further inform WELL Building Standard improvements, but also general prevention and preparedness, and recovery efforts.
Existing task force members:
- Risa Lavizzo-Mourey, M.D., MBA, former president and CEO of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and distinguished professor of population health and health equity at the University of Pennsylvania;
- Richard Carmona, M.D., MPH, FACS, 17th Surgeon General of the United States and distinguished professor at the University of Arizona; and
- Joseph Allen, DSc, MPH, assistant professor and director of the Healthy Buildings program at Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Second, IWBI is hosting a free series of webcasts for sharing collective knowledge and experience, "Places Matter: Prevention and Preparedness, Resilience and Recovery." The three accnounced sesssions are as follows:
- March 26: IBWI's global community’s response to the novel coronavirus - Hear from IWBI global outposts, including our team in China, on navigating the coronavirus.
- April 3 - Putting Health First -Practical strategies you can implement to support your own health and the health of your family.
- Thursday April 9 - The New Normal: Working from Home - Hear from health experts about best practices for working from home while taking care of your health. Explore ergonomics, acoustics, ideas for combatting social isolation and more.
