Downtown Tampa Area to become first Well Building Health and Wellness City District
Posted by: Allison Friedman // Rate It Green Admin
Tampa's downtown Amalie Arena will be part of the world’s first health- and-wellness city district, to be certified according to the Well Building Standard.
Partners in the project include Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinik, building designer Delos, and Strategic Property Partners, a real estate company controlled by Jeff Vinik and Cascade Investment.
Among other plans to be disclosed, the project will feature enhanced walkability, abundant green space, sound barriers to support acoustic comfort, access to healthy foods, green infrastructure, daily monitoring and reporting of district air quality, and access to the amenities of an urban waterfront.
