Trade in that coffin for an Organic Burial "Pod" that help people become nutrients for new and growing trees? This is an idea Italian designers came up with. Do we want to "turn our loved ones into trees" and is this the great green burial idea you've been looking for," or... is this kind of creepy and scary? How wasteful is the funeral and burial industry anyway?

Look up the Capsula Mundi project by designers Anna Citelli and Raoul Bretzel, and read this article if this interests you: http://www.architecturendesign.net/forget-coffins-organic-burial-pods-will-turn-your-loved-ones-into-trees/. I admit the pics kind of scared me. But in theory this is of course a GREAT idea.
