Every organization and everyone can submit to Rate It Green's green building calendar! Simply click register, verify your email address, and create a username and password. You can then decide if you'd like to engage more fully as a community member, but you'll be able to post events.
Please make sure to be respectful of the organizations and companies, and other Rate It Green members that make up our community. We welcome praise and advice and even criticism but all posted content and ratings should be constructive in nature. For guidance on what constitutes suitable content on the Rate It Green site, please refer to the User Agreement and Site Rules.
The opinions, comments, ratings and all content posted by member on the Rate It Green website are the comments and opinions of the individual members who posts them only and do not necessarily reflect the views or policies or policies of Rate It Green. Event Description
The built environment has not only a huge impact on the climate by producing roughly 40% of CO2 emissions but also on our health and wellbeing. With Americans spending 90% of their daily lives indoors; designers, architects, and builders have an opportunity to create a positive impact in these areas. To support this connection between human wellbeing and the built environment, the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) launched a WELL Building Certification system to promote a more in-depth understanding of building performance metrics, thresholds that support our health, wellbeing and happiness. Similar to what LEED has achieved for the environmental performance, WELL is striving to move the needle on healthy buildings and communities. This session will uncover key interdependencies between building energy management and indoor environmental quality, light, and sound design. Presentation and panel discussion includes local experts in the architecture, mechanical engineering, and indoor air quality fields to discuss case studies on how to achieve high energy performance while creating healthy interiors.

Steven is an architect with Gensler who focuses on government, academic and non-profit clients with 30 years of experience. He has been LEED accredited for 15 years and a WELL AP for three years. He has been involved in multiple rating systems (LEED BD+C, ID+C, C&S, ND, WELL and Fitwell) and several sustainable building strategies (ZNE, Energy Star, geothermal and stormwater enhancement). He has worked on 12 sustainable projects and presented at 30 sustainable seminars.
Ravi Bajaj, WELL AP, LEED AP O+M, BD+C, ID+C
Ravis has professional experience as a green building consultant with an emphasis on education and training. He holds a degree in Earth Science from UC San Diego and is a LEED Accredited Professional with specialties in Existing Buildings Operations and Maintenance, Building Design and Construction, and Interior Design and Construction. He also holds the WELL AP credential. He was previously the Education Manager with the San Diego Green Building Council coordinating study groups and educational events around sustainability in the built environment and is now a Project Manager with Healthy Buildings International.
Staci Ashcraft, PE, WELL AP
Staci is a licensed mechanical engineer with Glumac, a consulting MEP engineering firm that focuses on sustainable buildings. Staci has a passion for energy efficiency as well as occupant health and wellness, promoting natural ventilation, thermal comfort strategies, and improving indoor air quality. Before moving to San Diego, Staci led the Orange County Living Building Challenge Collaborative.
