Event Description

Think solar is too expensive and complicated? Solarize CNY makes switching to solar easier and more affordable than ever. Join us for our first workshop in 2015! We are on a mission to combine the purchasing power of our community to save money and the planet.

This free, public workshop will cover how solar works, and we’ll tell you how you can save money with our bulk purchasing program. This will be the first opportunity to meet our chosen solar installers for Onondaga County, and our community solar experts will be on hand to answer all your questions about whether solar energy is right for your home or business.

Time: 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Location: City Hall Commons Atrium

Chelsea, What manufacturers are supplying the panels for the community bulk purchases? Have you done research into the manufacturing process said firms employ? Fortunately having studied solar PV cell manufacturing in China during my undergraduate degree allowed me insight into, unfortunately, some of the practices manufacturers use to both coat and treat the polysilicon prior to module creation. Have you or your team done any research into the sourcing of your modules and/or components?
