October 26, 8 am - 12 noon
Bringing together institutions, businesses, designers, builders, and manufacturers,
to promote the demand for healthy building materials.

The USGBC Massachusetts Chapter will convene the Healthy Buildings Summit on Wednesday, October 26th, 2016. The Summit will bring together practitioners from all areas of real estate, construction and building operation who are working to improve the health effects of buildings. At this Summit we will be discussing healthy materials, the WELL Standard, nutrition & air quality, and other aspects of healthy workplaces.
It will feature a half-day ‘un-conference’ event which invites leaders from the business, design, and institutional communities to get together to learn concepts, brainstorm strategies, and set a regional agenda for healthy materials. Our hope is this event will equip these diverse communities with the tools they need to move forward in a way which promotes healthy buildings and generates a demand for healthy materials regionally. Boston and New England are uniquely configured to lead the promotion of healthy buildings, as we are one of the largest cities in the US, we have the highest per capita percentage of designers in the US, our economy hinges on stakeholders who value and promote human health (hospitals, universities, corporations). We are one of the greenest cities in the world.
The Healthy Materials Summit is open to anyone interested in green buildings, green materials, occupant health and safety, indoor air quality, life-cycle assessment, LEED, the Living Building Challenge, etc. including:
Architects, interior designers, and specification writers,
Contractors, subcontractors, and construction cost estimators,
Institutions, including higher education, government, and healthcare
Product manufacturers and vendors
Property owners and facilities managers
